Explore and Visit Koh Sichang - An Unexplored Island In Thailand

I've been living in Thailand for so many years and yet I never heard of this Island. When we talk about the Islands in Thailand the first thing that comes to tourists' minds are Koh Phi-Phi, Koh Samui, Koh Chang, Koh Samed, Koh etc. Anyway the word 'Koh' means Island in Thai language.
Not so many know about this Island and as far as I know is that this is the nearest island from Bangkok. This island is also surrounded with other smaller islands.

Location:

Situated in the Gulf of Thailand 12km offshore from Si Racha. Boats to Ko Si Chang leave every hour from the pier in Si Racha, taking about 40 minutes to make the trip. Price: 40 baht per person each way
The information counter at the pier in Ko Sichang provides necessary information and a brochure carrying the information of five important locations of the island written in Thai and English languages.

How to get there:

You can take the bus going to Si Racha from Ekkamai Station in Sukhumvit Rd.  and the fare for this bus is only 88 Baht. Then get off at Robinsons Department Store in Si Racha and take Tuk-Tuk going to the pier which will cost about 50 Baht.  Just tell the driver "Pai Tang Rueau ( Roo-wa ) means go to the pier. Ferry boat fare is 40 baht.

Accomodation:
Normally, the guests house, hotels and resort in this island don't have their website so you have to make your reservation over the phone. Some people go there for only one day tour and some are walking in for the hotel accommodation.

These are the guesthouse/resort that we stayed in

Tiew Pai Park Resort - This is located near the pier and town proper and is very easy to find.
 Tel 038 216 084-5
  Rate: about 300 - 600/ night

Thampang Beach Resort  - This resort is by the beach
Tel. - 0819490860
Rate: about 400 - 600/night

Going around the island:

It is advisable to get a motorcycle for rent if you want to explore the island . It cost 300 baht / 24 hours.
We've been to some tourist hot-spots in Sichang like Temples which are on top of the mountain, Overview of the sea and sunset. Chinese temples etc.

What I really like with this island is that most thing are cheap.
